# Vocemo

> An on-device AI toolkit for macOS. Dictation, meeting transcription, read-aloud, live captions,

## What it does

- **Dictation** — hold-to-talk into any app, with a custom vocabulary, spoken numbers written as
  digits, replacement rules, spoken snippets, and an optional local language-model cleanup pass.
- **Meetings and recordings** — transcription with speaker separation and a summary carrying
  decisions and action items. No meeting bot joins the call; audio is captured on the device.
- **Documents — 21 jobs** — images to PDF, PDF to images, PDF to Word, Office and Markdown to PDF,
  change image format, shrink photos, convert video and audio, transcribe a recording, anything to
  Markdown, compress a PDF, merge, split, delete pages, rotate, sign, add a password, remove a
  password, make a scan searchable with OCR, bank statement to CSV, receipts and invoices to CSV,
  table to CSV.
- **Read aloud** — on-device voices for any text, page or PDF.
- **Live captions** — system audio captioned in real time.
- **Screen questions** — select a region of the screen and ask a question about it.
- **Translation** — text and documents, offline.

## The privacy claim, precisely

Vocemo makes exactly two kinds of network request:

1. Downloading a model pack, the first time a feature needs one.
2. A daily licence check, whose request body is a machine fingerprint, the computer's name and the
   licence key.

Audio, documents, text, screenshots and notes are never transmitted. There is no account, no
sign-in and no analytics. Once a model pack is downloaded, every feature works with no network at
all; the licence has a 14-day offline grace period.

## Why the installer is 5.5 MB

No inference engine and no model weights ship inside it. There are 52 model packs, downloaded only
for the features actually used, stored in Application Support, and shut down after 120 seconds of
idle time. Model choice is matched to the hardware: larger models load only on Macs with 16 GB of
memory or more.

## Pricing

- Yearly: 144 USD a year, which is 12 USD a month.
- Monthly: 15 USD a month.

Both plans include every feature, every model and every update, on up to three Macs. There is a
7-day free trial. There is no account to create.

## Requirements

macOS 13.0 or later, Apple silicon.

## Installing

Download the disk image from https://vocemo.com/download, open it, and drag Vocemo into
Applications. The build is signed but not yet notarised by Apple, so macOS blocks it on first launch and offers
only "Move to Trash". Click Done, then open System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll to
Security, and click "Open Anyway". On macOS 15 and later the older Control-click > Open shortcut no
longer works. This is needed once only.
